Some kind of asteroid or magnetic field, I don’t know exactly myself, I’m no Navigator. Some people get stranded here, like you did, I suppose, when they try to time travel, or when they use wormholes or magic portals and miscalculate. Or sometimes random portals open, too. Happens when there’s an energy imbalance. [...]. There’s not really any laws and stuff here, you could probably get away with anything as long as you don’t spark a zapper, I mean, uh, get into a dispute with the wrong people. As a short history, people started getting stranded here because the Core was scrambling their portals, and someone had the fizzy idea to build hotels and some infrastructure here. By the time Apex Energy came along and turned the Core into a power plant, this was already a thriving trade hub, and more and more people from all universes started settling here. And here we are! Boom! Megacity!" *~Excerpt from [[Welcome To The Crossroads]]* ## Official Spotify Playlist: <iframe style="border-radius:12px" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/playlist/0W39MkcQy0tTS3hH8gbaTy?utm_source=generator" width="100%" height="352" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" allow="autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture" loading="lazy"></iframe> ## **The Void** ![[Void]] ## **The Portals** ![[ Portals]] ## **Measuring Time in the Void** Measuring time is difficult when there is no Sun determining your days, months and years. Therefore the people of the void have come up with different methods. There are many different ways, but the following is the most popular and wide-spead system: There's Core Beats, slow, regular pulses of the [[Core]] which are about an earth minute apart. 100 beats make up a void hour. To measure days, there is a portal that opens in a regular daily rhythm (about 1500 core beats) to deposit a single cone of soft-serve Ice Cream. The months are defined by flavour of Ice Cream which changes every 27 cones. The cycle is as follows: > 1. Vanilla > 2. Mint > 3. Purple Grape > 4. Strawberry > 5. Banana > 6. Bubble Gum > 7. Chocolate > 8. Raspberry > 9. Espresso > 10. Yogurt > 11. Caramel After these eleven flavours, the cycle starts again at Vanilla. During the Vanilla month, a flock of the [[Pyrin]], mythical birds with two sets of wings, will arrive at the Crossroads, marking the beginning of a new Void Year. People will also use pocket watches and other time-keeping devices to keep their own times. There is the ritual of "syncing up" where two or more people will set their device to the same time so they can keep track of meetings with one another. ![[Prompt List]]
